Duntrune House Tariff includes breakfast

At the heart of the Duntrune Experience is a warm welcome from your Bed and Breakfast hosts Barrie and Olwyn Jack who have lovingly brought this elegant historic house back to a family home.

Designed by the Scottish architect William Burn and built in 1826 for the descendants of David Graham of Duntrune, cousin of John Graham of Claverhouse (Bonnie Dundee), this listed country house is set in eight acres of lawn and woodland five miles North East of Dundee.

A stay of two days or more will enable you to appreciate this hidden gem. Duntrune House is a destination in itself. Barrie and Olwyn Jack are delighted to share their country home with guests who appreciate staying as part of the family. You may spend your day relaxing in the garden or the house with its eclectic collection of books; visiting the many local attractions in Dundee or Broughty Ferry; exploring further afield in the Angus Glens or coastal fishing villages; playing golf on any one of the numerous courses in the area (one only five minutes from the doorstep); following the Tayside antiques trail; or spending time at Glamis Castle and National Trust properties such as Barrie's Birthplace in Kirriemuir, Angus Folk Museum, House of Dun, Falkland Palace, Hill of Tarvit and Kellie Castle.

Dundee has all the attractions of a city - art gallery, contemporary arts centre, science centre, museums, repertory theatre and the historic ships Discovery and Unicorn. There is bird watching at Kinnordy and Loch of the Lowes, fishing on the Tay, hill walking in the Sidlaws and endless golf courses, many of them coastal links courses like the championship courses of St Andrews and Carnoustie.

Tayside is also a haven for antique hunters. Whatever you decide to do, the essence of Duntrune is a companionable, easy, go-as-you-please atmosphere rounded off with convivial, stimulating evenings round the supper table. Come for a short break and you will want to return for a longer visit!
