Painting with Liz
LIZ McCARTHY is a professional artist trained in Dundee. A highly regarded painter, Liz uses as her subject matter the woods and farmlands surrounding her home in picturesque rural Angus. Her main interest lies in the use of beautiful colours, harmony and composition.
Liz’s paintings are to be found in corporate and private collections world wide, including Australia, America, Germany, India and throughout the UK.
Liz has won numerous awards for her painting.
Welcome to Liz’s studio where Liz will lead you into a fantastic art journey, suiting all levels of ability, specialising in water colour, acrylic and mixed media.
Liz invites you to develop your own unique style of painting. In order to give individual attention Liz restricts her class to two students at any one time so that they receive inspirational teaching.
Painting Tuition: - Full day - £100 per person per day including refreshments and light lunch - courtesy of Sandy, Liz’s husband, who makes delicious soup and home made bread.
Half day - £60 per person including refreshments
All professional materials are provided.
Situated right next door to her studio is Liz’s charming little blue gallery which houses lots of art books and resources. Here you can browse and relax while enjoying refreshments.

Non painting partners are welcome and there are excellent facilities in the area for spa treatments, golf, touring, fishing, horse riding, sailing, shopping etc. Nearby in Dundee are art galleries, Dundee Contemporary Art Centre, Dundee Repertory Theatre and in Broughty Ferry a visit to Broughty Castle to see The Orchar Collection is very worthwhile ( you might even catch sight of the dolphins playing in the river ).
Country house accommodation is available at Duntrune House at the end of the drive. Accommodation is for a minimum of two nights in twin or double en suite rooms. Evening meals are available in house or in nearby restaurants.
